Activity 2

Is the internet both a good and a bad thing? To help decide you need to:

• Make a list of online activities.
• Describe what makes an online activity acceptable or unacceptable.
• Separate your list of online activities into two categories. Acceptable online behaviour or Unacceptable online behaviour.

Activity 3

Choose an unacceptable online behaviour/activity and create an Instagram image and quote to reflect it. Write hashtags to go with the image to represent why the behaviour is unacceptable.

• What the behaviour/activity involves.
• Why it is unacceptable.
• What could be the effects on the person carrying out the behaviour/activity?
• What could be the possible effects on others?

Using the phrase "Think before you send", create a viral ad campaign that gives a clear message about avoiding negative online behaviours.

Have a debate around one element of online behaviour e.g. Sending holiday photos from the beach or around the pool is positive online behaviour. (think bikini photos is this appropriate or not?)

In groups, students could prepare a short play about the consequences of online bullying and perform it to the rest of the class.

Students can produce a short film about the consequences of inappropriate online behaviour. (The UK Safer internet centre has an annual competition for schools about online safety so this could be a source for ideas or an incentive to create a great film)
